iPHONE WATER DAMAGE / ALL CELL PHONES 1. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TURN PHONE OR TRY AND CHARGE. Attempting to power your phone up before it is thoroughly dry can cause the phone to short out 2. REMOVE THE BATTERY. If your battery is not accessible, turn the power off and shut down the phone. Do not attempt to charge, do not try and turn on!!!!
3.Remove the SIM card. Pat the SIM card dry and set it aside until the phone is dry and ready to be powered up. 4. Dry your phone. Remove and/or open any covers and external plugs and connectors to allow as much access as possible to the interior of the phone. Shake the water out of your phone without dropping it, then use a paper towel to remove as much of the water as possible. Thoroughly dry the exterior of the phone.
5. Use a vacuum cleaner if possible. Hold the vacuum cleaner attachment over each accessible area on phone for several minutes. Because a vacuum cleaner will produce static electricity, do not hold the vacuum attachment too close to the phone. DO NOT use a hair dryer, even on a cool setting. This will only drive moisture further into the phone, greatly reducing the odds of a successful recovery. 6. IF YOU CANNOT GET TO TAZ -Tech Accessory Zone to drop your phone off emmediatley, then place in a bottle of rice and seal it. This will get some of the moisture out and prevent any other moisture from getting in. Once again, DO NOT ATEMPT TO TURN ON OR CHARGE! 7. Very important! FOR SALT WATER DAMAGE! If the phone was totally submerged in SALT WATER then please go ahead and thoroughly rinse the phone under fresh water. Yes I did say, rinse the phone under fresh water. The reason for this is because of the extremely highly corrosive nature of SALT WATER! It is better to try and get rid of as much salt as possible than to risk severe corrosion, which actually starts immediately. Once again, please do not attempt to turn on or charge! 8. GET THE PHONE TO TAZ -Tech Accessory Zone ASAP!!! Do not turn on or charge. |
